Regular maintenance and tune ups will help keep your car from overheating, but you should also take the time to perform a visual inspection. Check your coolant levels, hoses, and other components of your engine to prevent overheating.
Your coolant reservoir should have markings on the side which let you know where the coolant level should sit. If coolant sits below that level, refill it.
